Cast_Away_Rescore
This cue was composed for a psychological survival scene inspired by Cast Away, focusing on the protagonist’s emotional breakdown and dependence on an inanimate companion. The scoring approach prioritises internal psychology over external action. A restrained hybrid palette is used, combining chamber strings, upright piano, harp, choir, and subtle digital and modular synthesis. Sustained textures and legato phrasing replace rhythmic elements, allowing the music to function as an emotional undercurrent rather than a driving force. The cue begins with controlled silence, preserving realism before introducing a low-frequency drone (double bass and modular synthesis) to establish tension. As the character’s emotional state intensifies, the orchestration gradually expands, aligning with key narrative turning points. Harmonically, the cue moves from A minor-based instability toward C major, reflecting a shift from psychological collapse to temporary emotional relief. A motif introduced in 3/4 time represents the fragile emotional bond within the scene. Hybrid elements are used subtly as psychological extensions, reinforcing depth without disrupting the acoustic character. Overall, the score demonstrates a narrative-driven approach, where orchestration, harmony, and timing are shaped directly by performance and visual storytelling.

Pablo_Picasso_Documentary_Rescore
I approached this documentary score with restraint and cultural sensitivity, using piano and Spanish-influenced acoustic guitar textures with Andalusian harmonic movement to reflect the emotional and artistic journey of Pablo Picasso.
